Maybank Kim Eng organizes Thailand Green Corporate Day with views from 8 outstanding ESG companies

MKET by the Institutional Research Department organized "Thailand Green Corporate day" via online webinar.  The Company has continually conducted an analysis of listed companies focusing on ESG. In 2021, the Company has focused  to ESG concept as well as supporting Thai listed companies operating their business in accordance with the ESG guidelines, which include focusing on the environment, social and good governance which will lead to sustainability in business plans in long term.

To get along  with SET that has issued a policy to support Thai listed companies to operating business under ESG guidelines. SET also established Thai Sustainability Investment (THSI) in 2015 “Creating Opportunities for Investment with Sustainable Stocks” as a guideline for responsible investment for investors who want to invest in listed companies with outstanding ESG and to support listed companies that conduct business with consideration to all stakeholders in both social and environmental aspects.

Maybank Kim Eng cooperated in the ESG approach, which is why the Thailand Green Corporate day was organized and invited 8 Thai leading listed companies in the energy, construction materials, retail and telecommunication sector which operates business based on ESG principles namely Advanced Info Service Plc. (ADVANC), Energy Absolute Plc. (EA), Global Power Synergy Plc. (GPSC), Home Product Center Plc. (HMPRO), PTT Global Chemical Plc. (PTTGC), The Siam Cement Plc. (SCC), Total Access Communication Plc. (DTAC) and Thai Union Group Plc. (TU) share their useful experiences and ideas on sustainable business practices under ESG principles.

All 8 companies have guidelines in the same direction which is to commit and improve energy efficiency, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, maximize the efficiency of energy use in business activities, develop and study digital innovation, protect and restore ecosystem and environment and organize training to increase knowledge skills for employees. The important thing is to proceed business in accordance with the principles of good corporate governance, transparency in order to prevent corruption.
